Bacteria Present on the Skin
The human skin is covered with life. Did you know that this life includes bacteria, fungi, bacteriophages, and even animals such as nematodes and Demodex mites?
Certainly, the underarm is considered a part of the skin. There are two popular products that we use to lessen bacterial action under the arms and they are anti-perspirant and deodorant. Have you ever wondered why parents are always against friends sharing personal items? Well, truthfully the arm has bacteria species such as Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus, Betaproteobacteria, Clostridiales, Lactobacillus, Propionibacterium, and Streptococcus which is responsible for underarm odor and of course, getting other peoples bacteria is somewhat disgusting if you ask me!
Antiperspirant vs Deodorant
Most antiperspirant contains aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex Gly as the active ingredient, initially, they work and will continue to work, however, within four days without an antiperspirant bacteria will return and increase more than before. Antiperspirants contain aluminum-based salts that reduce sweat by forming precipitates that physically block sweat glands. Even though they block sweat glands to prevent bacteria, these people still had more bacteria than deodorant after long-term use.
Crystal body salts claim that their antiperspirant has mineral salts creating an environment in which bacteria cannot survive. But really at what cost? clogging your sweat glands to stop sweat.
Natural Deodorant
Aluminum-free deodorant has some amount of alcohol and is water-based. This is less likely to be less dangerous, it doesn’t clog the sweat glands as aluminum antiperspirant does which later could cause overproduction of estrogen which then leads to some type of breast cancer.
Positive effects of Natural deodorant
- Doesn’t clog pores- Natural deodorant doesn’t contain harmful chemicals like aluminum, parabens, and synthetic fragrances. Conventional antiperspirant contains harmful chemicals to assist in eliminating sweat. By switching to a natural deodorant, you can reduce your exposure to these harmful substances and promote better well-being.
- lessen bacteria over time -Research shows that over time bacteria lessens naturally while using natural deodorant. This could be due to natural powerful ingredients such as baking soda, plant extracts, and essential oils. These ingredients work together to neutralize bacteria-causing odor, leaving you feeling fresh and confident throughout the day.
- Gentler on Sensitive Skin:
. Natural deodorants offer a gentle alternative. It’s often soothing and nourishing the delicate skin on your underarms. Their hypoallergenic properties minimize the risk of irritation and provide relief for those with sensitive skin. - Environmentally Friendly:

Make a positive impact on the environment by reducing your plastic footprint. - Supporting Ethical Brands:
